HOURS LIBRARY BOARD OPENING. This position represent an opportunity for interested residents of Marshall to become more involved in the library This position is nonpaying. Interested residents can obtain additional information and applications from the City Administrator's Office at the Municipal Building, 344 West Main St., Marshall, MN. Appointments will be made by the Mayor and City Council as set forth in policy statements. |

LIBRARY DIRECTOR.
Exciting opportunity in a vibrant, diverse, rural community : the Marshall
Lyon County Library (MLCL) is looking for an energetic, innovative, and
service oriented library director to lead the MLCL library forward in new
directions. Located on the historic prairies of southwest Minnesota,
Marshall Minnesota has been named “One of the Best Small Towns in America”
several times. The city is also home to Southwest Minnesota State
University, a four-year public university offering a high quality education
in the liberal arts and professions. The Marshall Lyon County library
serves a population of 21,605 from the main library in Marshall, two branch
libraries and through an outreach service. The city-county library is well
supported with information technology, has the SIRSI Workflows automation
system, an annual budget of $806,338, a staff of 9.48 FTEs, and is a member
of the Plum Creek Regional Public Library System. There is also an active
Friends of the Library group which raises additional funds for the library.
The MLCL Foundation is in the midst of a fundraising campaign for a new main
library building. The Library director reports to and is advised by a 9
