MN Capitol Furnishings History Hunt

November 21 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Cass Gilbert, architect of the Minnesota State Capitol, also designed around 1,600 items of furniture for the Capitol building. Only about half of those remain–and the Cass Gilbert Society is trying to track down the rest! Natalie Heneghan, project manager of the Minnesota State Capitol Furnishings Project, will explain the hunt, tell what they’ve found so far, and maybe even discover a bit more of that history.

You can learn more about Cass Gilbert and the Minnesota State Capitol Furnishings Project at cassgilbertsociety.org.

Clean Water Land & Legacy Amendment logoThis activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
