Remembering the Great War – Soldiers, Sweethearts & Sacrifices

SMSU faculty Mark Fokken, Professor of Communication Studies, and Jan Loft, Dean of Arts, Letters, and Sciences will present “Soldiers, Sweethearts & Sacrifices: A Fantasy Theme Analysis of the songs from WWI.”

This lecture will be repeated Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at noon in Charter Hall room 201 at SMSU.

Part of the Remembering the Great War lecture series.

The Remembering the Great War lecture series is a several-year collaboration between Southwest Minnesota State University and the Marshall-Lyon County Library commemorating the 100th anniversary of World War I. Each lecture is presented by an SMSU professor on a different topic of WWI. Lectures are repeated at the Marshall library and in at SMSU.

This event is sponsored by the SMSU History Club and the Marshall-Lyon County Library.
