Summer Learning

An illustrated figure made out of books plays an electric guitar. "LIBRARIES ROCK!" is written at the bottom. The Marshall-Lyon County Library’s annual summer learning program for children is designed with three goals in mind:

  • To nurture a love of reading
  • To captivate children in a variety of fun learning activities
  • To help students maintain and grow their learning and reading abilities during summer vacation

Events vary by home library. Take-home activities vary by reading level.

Take-home activity logs and prizes for completing them are available for Pre-Readers, Readers, and Advanced Readers. Complete 15 activities to win a free book! Complete all 30 activities to win a cloth book bag!

Additional programs are also available for infants and older teens.
