Pick-Up Service

Pick-up service is still available at our Marshall location by request. Staff will retrieve your items and have them waiting for you to pick up.

1. Make your request

You can request items by email (library@marshalllyonlibrary.org) or phone (507-537-7003). You may also place your own holds online. Learn how here!

If you contact us, staff will ask you to provide the following information:

  • Your name
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Library Card Number
  • Email (if applicable)
  • What types of materials are you requesting? (Books, movies, fiction/nonfiction, audiobooks, Children’s, Teen, cake pans, puzzles, magazines, etc.).
  • Your requests such as specific titles, authors, subjects, genres.
  • Do you need or prefer large print?
  • If you don’t have specific titles in mind, how many items would you like?

Note: We will do our best to fulfill your requests; however, with limited access to area collections please accept a staff recommendation if necessary.  Also, recent releases might not be available.

2. Schedule a pick-up time

Once you’ve made your requests, please schedule a time to pick your items up. You can contact the library by email (library@marshalllyonlibrary.org) or phone (507-537-7003). Your items will be waiting for you.

Drive-Up Window

You may also pick up your items via our drive-up window. Currently, the drive-up window is available from 4-5 pm on weekdays and 9 am – noon on Saturdays.

The drive-up window is located just before the drive-up book drop on the east side of our building. Please approach in the direction of the arrows.

Need items delivered?

Those ages 60+ or those with underlying health conditions are eligible for our Reader’s Café To Go service. Click here for more information.

Don’t have a card? Give us a call (507-537-7003) for a temporary digital-only access card.

Returning items?

Please return items to one of our outdoor book drops. Only items that will not fit in the drops can be returned at the main desk during open hours. Don’t worry about hurrying in if you have items due; fines are currently being waived when items are returned.

 

Computer Access & Wi-fi

Public computers are not available at this time. Public wi-fi is available (MLCLPublic, password bookstoread) and may be accessed from portions of the parking lot. You may also bring your own device to access wi-fi and wireless printing. Please keep your use of the library to 30 minutes or less.

If you have an emergency need for a computer and do not have one of your own, please call the library first.
