Anime Club

Anime Club meets every fourth Thursday from 3:30-5:30 pm!

Want to help us decide what to watch next? Come to our meeting and tell us, email a suggestion to the teen services librarian, or drop a note in our purple suggestion box. It might take a while to decide; since we’re in a public place, we have to make sure the anime company is okay with us showing it. Usually, we watch anime in Japanese with English subtitles.

In August, we’ll be watching .hack//Quantum

Tobias, Mary, and Sakuya are three school-aged friends who game together in an MMORPG called The World. This three-episode series explores their adventures while trapped in a maze.

.hack//Quantum is a fantasy action adventure show and is rated TV-PG. It and other shows set in the .hack// world are available to stream for free from Crunchyroll.

A note for parents:

Due to audience and cultural differences, much of the anime we watch is rated PG-13 or TV-14. You are the best judge of what is appropriate for your child. We recommend researching and/or previewing a series before we watch it at the library. Most anime series we watch are available either in the library’s dvd collection or free to stream online through a service like Crunchyroll or Hulu.
