Anime Club meets every fourth Thursday from 3:30-5:30 pm!
Want to help us decide what to watch next? Come to our meeting and tell us, email a suggestion to the teen services librarian, or drop a note in our purple suggestion box. It might take a while to decide; since we’re in a public place, we have to make sure the anime company is okay with us showing it.
In May, we’ll continue watching Log Horizon & Tegami Bachi, Letter Bee
Log Horizon: In an event that will later be known as the Apocalypse, 30,000 players are suddenly trapped in the fantasy MMORPG Elder Tale. In a world where players can’t die and there are no rules, how do you turn a potential prison into a home? Veteran player Shiroe and his friends try to make this a world worth living in while still searching for a way back to their old lives.
Log Horizon is an action sci-fantasy drama and is rated TV-14. It can be streamed for free via Crunchyroll at http://www.crunchyroll.com/log-horizon. We are currently on episode 24.
Tegami Bachi: After strangers took his mother away, the young boy Lag Seeing was collected by the Letter Bee Gauche Suede to be delivered to his aunt in a far-off town. Five years later, Lag sets off on his own journey to become a Letter Bee and fight dangerous monsters to deliver people’s precious letters like his hero Gauche.
Tegami Bachi is an action fantasy drama and is rated PG-13. It can be streamed for free via Crunchyroll at http://www.crunchyroll.com/tegami-bachi-letter-bee. We are currently on episode 2.
A note for parents:
Due to audience and cultural differences, much of the anime we watch is rated PG-13 or TV-14. You are the best judge of what is appropriate for your child. We recommend researching and/or previewing a series before we watch it at the library. Most anime series we watch are available either in the library’s dvd collection or free to stream online through a service like Crunchyroll or Hulu.
