Anime Club meets every fourth Thursday from 3:30-5:30 pm!
Want to help us decide what to watch next? Come to our meeting and tell us, email a suggestion to the teen services librarian, or drop a note in our purple suggestion box. It might take a while to decide; since we’re in a public place, we have to make sure the anime company is okay with us showing it. Usually, we watch anime in Japanese with English subtitles.
On February 28th, we’ll be watching A Letter to Momo.
A Letter to Momo is a fantasy film set in the modern day. It is rated ages 9+. Lyon County residents can check it out to stream through Kanopy. All Momo has to remember her father is a letter that just says “Dear Momo.” When she and her mother move to a remote island, she finds three yokai living in her attic. Despite all the trouble they cause, they might help her find what her father meant to tell her.
A note for parents:
Due to audience and cultural differences, much of the anime we watch is rated PG-13 or TV-14. You are the best judge of what is appropriate for your child. We recommend researching and/or previewing a series before we watch it at the library. Most anime series we watch are available either in the library’s video collection or free to stream online through a service like Crunchyroll or Hulu. Usually, we watch the film or show in the original Japanese with English subtitles.
