Anime Club meets every fourth Thursday from 3:30-5:30 pm!
Want to help us decide what to watch next? Come to our meeting and tell us, email a suggestion to the teen services librarian, or drop a note in our purple suggestion box. It might take a while to decide; since we’re in a public place, we have to make sure the anime company is okay with us showing it. Usually, we watch anime in Japanese with English subtitles.
On November 29th, we’ll be watching Heroman in honor of Stan Lee.
Joey lives with his grandma and spends his days with school and work at a restaurant. When a toy he found and fixed is hit by lightning, it transforms into a giant robot. Now it’s up to Joey and the robotic Heroman to defend the Earth from invading aliens.
The Heroman anime is adapted from the manga written by Stan Lee. It is a superhero action show and is rated PG. It is available to stream for free from Crunchyroll, VRV, and other streaming sites.
A note for parents:
Due to audience and cultural differences, much of the anime we watch is rated PG-13 or TV-14. You are the best judge of what is appropriate for your child. We recommend researching and/or previewing a series before we watch it at the library. Most anime series we watch are available either in the library’s dvd collection or free to stream online through a service like Crunchyroll or Hulu.
