Anime Club meets every fourth Thursday from 3:30-5:30 pm!
Want to help us decide what to watch next? Come to our meeting and tell us, email a suggestion to the teen services librarian, or drop a note in our purple suggestion box. It might take a while to decide; since we’re in a public place, we have to make sure the anime company is okay with us showing it.
In June, we’ll be watching Inuyasha, the Movie: Affections Touching Across Time.
After a monster drags her into a well at her family shrine, 15-year-old Kagome is transported 500 years back in time to Japan’s Sengoku period. There she meets Inuyasha, a half-demon dog, and the two must join forces to recover fragments of a shattered magical gem. Plot twist: it turns out she’s also the reincarnation of Inuyasha’s dead love, warrior priestess Kikyo! Battles and antics ensue.
A note for parents:
Due to audience and cultural differences, much of the anime we watch is rated PG-13 or TV-14. You are the best judge of what is appropriate for your child. We recommend researching and/or previewing a series before we watch it at the library. Most anime series we watch are available either in the library’s dvd collection or free to stream online through a service like Crunchyroll or Hulu.
