Teen Lit Con 2017 – information for attendees
Have a space on the bus? Awesome! We’re excited to see you!
Currently, there is a waiting list to ride the bus. If you find out that you can’t go, please let Emilirose Rasmusson (emilirose.rasmusson@marshalllyonlibrary.org ; 507.337.6187) know as soon as possible so we can let someone else take your seat.
Your Deposit
You’ll receive your $5 deposit back when you get on the bus on May 6th. If you don’t show up for the bus, your $5 will be donated to fund future Teen library programs.
Departure and Arrival Times
Our day’s schedule is near the bottom of this page. The bus will load at 5:45 am and leave from the Marshall-Lyon County Library promptly at 6 am on Saturday morning. It is your responsibility to get to the library on time. We will not call to check on you. Anyone who is not on board the bus by 6 am will be left behind.
The bus will return to the Marshall public library at approximately 7:30 pm Saturday evening. Please make sure you have a way to get home after the event! You absolutely need to be picked up by 8 pm. If you or your friends have a cell phone, we suggest that you call your ride before we reach Marshall.
Food
Bring some food! There will be some food for purchase at the event (cash only, no ATM on site), and we’re planning to stop during the bus ride, but selections will be limited.
Per the request of the bus company, please keep your beverages in plastic containers with screw-on lids. No sunflower seeds are allowed.
Also, to make our journey as fast as possible, we will only stop once for bathrooms. It’ll be about 2 hours into the ride on the way to the cities. Please plan accordingly!
Book Signings
Authors will be signing books all day! Feel free to bring your own books to be signed. Books will also be available for purchase at the event (cash or credit card).
Personal Items
You are responsible for whatever you bring with you. Think carefully before you pack! Don’t bring anything that’s not safe to have at school. You’ll need to carry it with you, keep it on your lap or under your seat on the bus, and keep track of it all day.
